Trick or Treat!

I've always loved Halloween since I was a kid. To me it was always about more than the candy, it was about the fun to be had dressing up and getting to BE your favorite character for a day. I even remember enjoying seeing others' costumes, like my friends or classmates, and as I got older, I started to appreciate the level of effort and attention to detail that some people would put into theirs.

So here's my contribution to the spirit of Halloween this year that reflects that quality. It's a little sketch that I made that I would hypothetically use if people gave each other Halloween cards. And for all you people that love attention to detail, there is a rhyme and reason to the characters and costumes in my painting. So can you figure out why each little character dressed up in their respective costume?

Happy Halloween!!!

  1. They're Universal monsters disguised as current movies? Nice painting, Mauricio. I need to do a Halloween post next.

  3. Hmmm...Frankenstein needed lightning to power up..and Harry's lightning bolt scar; Dracula and Superman have arch nemesisis (nemesii?) - the light of day, and krptonite? oh, scratch that..they both love capes? : ); mummy boy and Jack Sparrow..hmm...that is a tough one. OH! They are back from the dead?! HA! So much fun...this piece truly depicts a joyful Halloween..right from my memories. Hope you had a super celebration and thank you for your kind visit! YAY for pumpkin pies!!
